Writing Resource Center Home > Submission Guidelines The Writer's Resource Center is a collaborative effort providing peer-reviewed electronic resources to both faculty and students. At present our resources include material from the Writer's Complex, the Genesee Valley Center Writing Program, and the Online Library. In an effort to expand our collection of materials, we are calling for submissions. In particular, we are looking for a variety of pertinent materials aimed at providing instructional/reference information in all aspects of writing, including but not limited to bibliographies, student handouts and exercises, and articles for faculty use. Submissions will be reviewed by no less than four members of our writing panel, depending upon subject expertise.
General Requirements:
1. Contributors are encouraged to submit pertinent, unique materials aimed at providing instructional/reference information in all aspects of writing, including but not limited to bibliographies, student handouts, exercises and articles for faculty use. Contributors may provide materials that include improvement or variation on existing items. Length:
There is no limit on the length of the material being submitted. Should there be a problem with length or included graphics, contributors will be informed at the time of acceptance.
Formatting:
Please note that formatting will be taken care of by the web page manager. While content will not change, articles accepted for publication will be reformatted as necessary in order to apply information design principles standard for electronic text, e.g. adding links, bookmarks, and/or menus to aid effective searching.
Notification:
Formal review of all materials will take place twice a year. Reviews are scheduled to begin on June 1st and December 1st. Notification of acceptance will take place during the review period. Actual publication will be on or before the last day of the review period, August 31st and February 28/29th, respectively.
Copyright:
Empire State College will hold the electronic copyright on all materials accepted for publication. Individual contributors/authors will retain the right to use their own material for educational and/or research purposes. By giving Empire State College electronic copyright, contributors/authors are made aware that additional faculty, with permission from Empire State College, will also be allowed the use of all posted resources from this site for instructional purposes.
All materials used as handouts or training aids must give proper credit to both the original author and to Empire State College as the original publisher.
Questions:
All questions, comments or feedback must directed to WritingPanel@ESC.EDU.
