GRADUATION PROCEDURE

When you are enrolled in the last 16 credits of your concurred degree program, you must submit a graduation application. This will begin the review process of your records. The application can be submitted online through this link: graduation application

If all is in order, we will forward a recommendation for your graduation to the Office of the Registrar. The Office of the Registrar will review your complete academic record, ascertaining that the studies described in the contract evaluations are the same as those outlined in your degree program. This is the academic clearance.

Financial clearance for graduation follows. The Office of Student Accounts will be requested to review your financial status for financial clearance. While these administrative procedures are taking place, the Office of the Registrar will notify you by mail of the approximate timetable of events leading to the awarding of your degree and will prepare your final official Empire State College transcript.

When your records have received both academic and financial clearance, the College president will recommend you to the State University Board of Trustees for graduation on the first day of the following month. The remainder of the processing, which includes the Office of the Registrar ordering and processing your diploma, takes a minimum of eight weeks.

Our recognition ceremony is held every June in Saratoga Springs, New York.
