Early Childhood Educators Scholarship

Prospective students and current students in the Watertown/Fort Drum area who are working in early childhood professions, including childcare, and/or military spouses are eligible for this $600 scholarship. The scholarship will be awarded twice per year, and scholarship winners are eligible to apply for the scholarship again in the future.

Preference will be given to new Empire State College students pursuing Early Childhood Studies who have graduated from Jefferson Community College and who enroll in the Pathways Program, but all applications will be considered.

Application Process

Applicants must submit the following materials:

A 1-2 page essay explaining the applicant's experience and interest in Early Childhood Studies. If the applicant is a military spouse, the essay should address their interest in and plans for pursuing a degree through Empire State College.
A resume.
The name and telephone number of two references, one of whom should be a professional reference.

Application Deadlines

September term:

Application materials must be received by July 1
Decision made by scholarship committee by July 31st

January term:

Application materials must be received by December 1
Decision made by scholarship committee by December 31st
