Welcome to the Academy for Lifelong Learning hosted and sponsored by SUNY Empire State College. We are 430 active, curious adults who enjoy learning, socializing and growing in our retirement. Founded in 1992, our Academy is a non-profit, member-driven and managed organization providing non-credit academic study groups and social opportunities. Most classes are held at Empire State College on West Avenue in Saratoga Springs as well as at a variety of other locations. Our study group leaders are accomplished volunteers willing to share their expertise and skills to enrich our lives.
If you are a person who enjoys such topics as music, interpretive hikes, painting, birding, classic movies, as well as opportunities to discuss religion, politics, history, literary fiction, life’s transitions, and many other subjects, this is the place for you. Some study groups travel to museums, landmarks and historical sites each week. Others enjoy weekly speakers on a variety of topics. We offer two terms each year: one from September to November; the other April to June. Members await the publication of each term’s class offerings brochure with impatience looking forward to the next term’s offerings.
View our current brochure. If you are intrigued, come join us. I look forward to meeting you as you begin an exciting adventure that will enrich your life.
Sincerely, Louise Young, ALL Executive Council Chair
