Emergency Management and Homeland Security

These concentrations are designed to meet the needs of emergency responders, firefighters, military personnel or other professionals who are working full-time and looking to advance their careers in these fields. Students in these programs earn a Bachelor of Science or a Bachelor of Professional Studies degree in Public Affairs.
Credit for College-level Learning from Training Programs
Students may also be able to apply for credit for college-level learning obtained from training programs conducted by the Federal Emergency Management Agency and state emergency management agencies. Emergency medical services licenses and CPR certificates may also qualify for college credit.
Training Evaluated for Emergency Management and Homeland Security
Some training has already been evaluated for credit by the American Council on Education (ACE) or by Empire State College. The college accepts credit recommendations of the institutions below.
