SUNY Empire provides professional photographers and photography students in New York City the resources they need to complete their undergraduate degree, with specifically tailored curricula that takes advantage of the unique offerings available in the Metropolitan area.

The Arts NYC program offers proximity to cultural resources, such as galleries and museums, as well as activities such as lecture series and class trips, including the annual "Dusk to Dawn" photography field trip.

Students enrolled in the Arts NYC program study photography in an open and carefully organized atmosphere based on involvement and learning through experience. The core workshops cater to a full range of students, from those with no experience in photography or the arts, to professional photographers.

Our digital lab provides access to digital imaging software programs and archival printing as a component of study groups and individualized studies.
