EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT, HOMELAND SECURITY AND FIRE ADMINISTRATION

Put your experience to work. Get the degree you want, with the flexibility that you need. Consider building a more solid future for yourself and your community at Empire State College's Center for Distance Learning. In cooperation with the National Fire Academy, the Emergency Management Institute, and the Federal Emergency Management Agency as agencies of the Department of Homeland Security, Empire State College now offers cutting-edge educational concentrations in emergency management, fire service administration, and homeland security, leading to a Bachelor of Science or a Bachelor of Professional Studies degree.

These educational concentrations are designed to meet the needs of emergency responders, firefighters, and military personnel who are working full-time and looking to earn a bachelor's degree to advance their careers. You can design your concentration within the Areas of Study of Business, Management, and Economics, or Community and Human Services.

Empire State College has a commitment to the individualization of degrees. That commitment allows you to turn your focus within the concentration to management structures of the fire services or emergency response systems, for example. Perhaps you are interested in addressing the broader community impacts resulting from major emergencies, or you may decide that you want to combine aspects of homeland security, emergency management, and fire service administration into a comprehensive program. You may pursue these paths and many others as you design your program to meet your needs.
