Welcome to Empire State College's Disability Services

Our mission is to offer all students with disabilities an equal opportunity for success in their college experience. Our center disability representatives and the statewide coordinator of disability services all have the same goal: to provide equal access to all college services, studies, programs and activities. We do this by ensuring that reasonable accommodations are determined and implemented in an appropriate manner.

All students with a disabling condition who meet the academic and technical standards for participation in the program are eligible to request reasonable accommodations to achieve equal access in accordance with all applicable state and federal laws.

Students are accommodated when they disclose their disabilities and request accommodations. The student may choose to work with his or her mentor and request informal modifications to the study or the student may choose to access the official accommodation process. Official notification of a disability happens through communication with the disability representative.
