Profile Toni Raiten-D'Antonio, a mentor in community and human services, also is a psychotherapist in private practice and the author of two inspirational, self-help books, "The Velveteen Principles" and "The Velveteen Principles for Women."
Drawing on her background in theater, motivational speaking and television performance, she has appeared across North America to discuss her books and various mental health-related topics. Her numerous speaking engagements include the keynote address at the Fourth Annual Caregivers Luncheon in New Jersey, the Vanderbilt University Love Your Body Celebration,and the American Heart Association Go Red! For Women events. In addition, she has taught public speaking skills to the rookies of the NFL's New York Jets. Her presentation style blends fun, education and support.
She is working on her third book, "Embracing Medusa," examining cultural messages relating to ugliness and how they make us anxious and traumatized, limiting our potential, our relationships, our health and sometimes shortening our lives.
