Dana Longley
Title: Manager of Library Services
A little about myself: I have worked at Empire State College since May 2003. My previous position at the college was as an Instructional Support Specialist, where I managed the college's technical help desk and web site and provided support and training for the online course management system for faculty. Prior to coming to the college, I worked briefly at Mildred Elley College in Latham, NY as a librarian, and before that lived in Baltimore, MD where I worked for four years in a research-oriented information services web company as the manager of their help desk.

I also have experience working in both large and small academic libraries and a large, urban public library. I have a Masters degree in Library Science and a bachelor's degree in History. I truly love helping people find the information they need when they need it so never hesitate to send us your questions!

Title: Information Resources Coordinator
A little about myself: In October 2006, I joined the Center for Learning and Technology as an Information Resources Coordinator supporting the online library. I also provide part-time support for the college's Help Desk. In May 2006, I received my MLS from Long Island University, where I was also previously employed as an Admissions Coordinator. I interned at the SUNY Purchase Library with the Systems Librarian. My Computer and Information Science degree from Iona College coupled with my MLS gives me the technical background to provide information to those in need.

Sara Hull
Title: Information Resources Coordinator
A little about myself: I began working at Empire State College in May of 2007. Prior to joining the librarians at this college, I was the Reference and Instruction Services Librarian at Bay Path College in Massachusetts, and have previously worked at Siena College’s library and at the Corinth Free Library.

I have experience in a variety of fields from professional theatre and voice-overs to teaching and insurance, but I love that being a librarian affords me the opportunity to continue embracing and discovering knowledge in all of my areas of interest. I enjoy knowing that anything I don’t know now (and that’s a lot), I can always learn. I hope to share my enthusiasm for learning with others, so if there is a subject you would like help in exploring, please just ask!

Area of Study Responsibilities: Arts; Business, Management and Economics; Cultural Studies
Degrees: B.A. in English, Theatre Certificate from Siena College; M.S. in Information Science, M.A. in English and M.A. in Women’s Studies from the University at Albany

Title: Information Resources Coordinator
A little about myself: I've worked in the Online Library since October 2006. Before that, I was a student in the Information Science and Policy program at the University at Albany, and worked as a graduate assistant/intern at the U. Albany library and New York State Library. What fascinates me is what goes on when a person takes it upon themself to acquire a new body of knowledge and put it to work for them. It can be an empowering, liberating experience. It's an important life skill that I want to help make accessible to everyone. I also love the way this kind of work exposes me to all sorts of knowledge I might never have had the opportunity to learn otherwise! Whether it’s the technical aspects or the larger research process; figuring out where to start or finding the exact resource you need to wrap it all up, I’d love to help.
