Empire State College has a longstanding partnership with the Army to provide accessible and affordable degree options to our service members. Students can choose from a wide selection of degrees offered at any of our New York state locations and/or online through our Center for Distance Learning.

We are also partners with the College of the American Soldier to offer bachelor's degrees in the Career Non-Commissioned Officers (NCO) program. Go to

Apply and/or Enroll:
Active-duty Army and activated Army National Guard and Reservists are required to apply and enroll through the GoArmyEd portal at
www.goarmyed.com.
- To study at our Fort Drum location: Go to www.goarmyed.com and select Empire State College – Fort Drum as your home institution.
- To study through our Center for Distance Learning: Go to www.goarmyed.com and select Empire State College – Center for Distance Learning as your home institution.
- To study through our Center for Graduate Programs: Go to www.goarmyed.com and select Empire State College – Grad as your home institution. Please note that the Center for Graduate Programs is listed as a non-LOI school.
- To study at an Empire State College location that is not yet listed as a non-LOI school, please contact Alex McNamara (McNamaraA@aascu.org) at Servicemembers Opportunity Colleges (SOC)) and request that the location be added to the portal as a non-LOI school. Then go to www.goarmyed.com and select it from the list of non-LOI schools
Inactive Guard or Reservists may apply to and enroll in Empire State College using the college's normal application and enrollment procedures. Please see the applicable page to apply for
undergraduate study or
graduate study.
Receive Up-Front Tuition Assistance:
In order to receive up-front tuition assistance, active-duty Army and activated Army National Guard and Reservists are required to apply and enroll through the GoArmyEd portal at
www.goarmyed.com. Effective October 1, 2009, inactive reservists also will be required to apply and enroll through the portal. Inactive Army National Guard students receive tuition assistance from the state and, therefore, can apply and enroll directly through the center of their choice.
If you wish to receive up-front tuition assistance while studying through one of our locations not currently listed as a non-Letter of Intent (LOI) school, you or your education center can simply contact Alex McNamara (
McNamaraA@aascu.org) at Servicemembers Opportunity Colleges (SOC)) and request that the location be added to the portal as a non-LOI school.
