Verb Tense

You need to determine, first of all, if you have a regular or irregular verb.

Regular, present tense verbs end in -s, -es, or no ending (depending upon the verb agreement with the noun in the sentence).

Regular, past tense verbs end in -d or -ed: Irregular verbs have their own spellings in present and past tense, which you just have to memorize (since there's no one, overall spelling rule to which they conform). These are some common irregular verbs:
