IBEW, Local #3 Bachelor's Degree Program

The IBEW, Local #3 bachelor's degree program offers its members the opportunity to complete a 128-credit bachelor's degree program in labor studies with a concentration in labor and the construction industry.

The labor and the construction industry program reflects what students bring into Empire State College in the way of transcript credit and also what they have acquired via credit by evaluation. In the case of IBEW, Local #3 apprentices, electrical theory instruction offers the most obvious source for credit by evaluation. Apprentices generally receives credit by evaluation after their fourth year is completed. The total of transcript credit and credit by evaluation constitute a student's advanced-standing credits. No student may receive more than 96 advanced-standing credits.
