Announcements for Students

  • (11/26/08) Tuition increase is now effective: An increase in tuition has been implemented. All students who registered for or will register in the Spring 2009 (January) term will be charged according to new SUNY tuition rates. Please review your Account Summary for details, and visit our tuition page for more information.
  • (11/25/08) Notice of Tuition Increase: The SUNY Board of Trustees has approved an increase in tuition starting with the Spring 2009 (January) term. The college is waiting on further instructions from SUNY, and will soon begin to generate billing with corrected tuition amounts for students who are registered for this term. We appreciate your patience.
  • (11/18/08) Many Waters, Empire State College’s annual literary magazine, welcomes submissions from students, alumni, faculty, administrators and staff. Members of the college community from all programs, including International, graduate and undergraduate programs, are encouraged to share their writings and graphic arts through the magazine. The submission deadline for the 2009 edition is February 16, 2009. See the submission guidelines for more information; both writings and graphic arts may be submitted via an online form.
  • (11/10/08) Registration for the January 2009 term will open for matriculated students on Wednesday, November 12 at 9 a.m. E.S.T. Registration for nonmatriculated students will open on Monday,November 24 at 9 a.m. E.S.T.
  • (9/17/08) Looking to create or update your resume? The college has a new "Resume Builder" service in the Career Resources Center to help you You can build a resume; create an online portfolio, web page or video resume and more.
  • (9/16/08) Registration for the November 2008 term opens Tuesday, Sept. 16 at 9:00 a.m. E.S.T. for matriculated students. Registration for nonmatriculated students will open Sept. 29 at 9:00 a.m. E.S.T. Registration for the November term will close for all students on Friday, Oct. 17 at 5:00 p.m. E.S.T.
  • (9/9/08) September 17 is Constitution Day. On this day, we honor the document that founded our nation, and affirm our duty to know it and preserve the rights and freedoms that it guarantees. We invite you to use the resources at www.esc.edu/constitutionday to learn more about the Constitution.
  • (9/6/08) We have upgraded the MyESC site to reflect the activities most requested by our students. Please note that there is now a separate "MyESC Home" page at http://www.esc.edu/myesc for announcements, dates and deadlines, and links to general information. Your academic and financial records are now on a separate tab, "My Records." For other details about the changes, please see the "Overview" page and the new "MyESC Site Map".

  • (8/13/08) The Annual Learning Opportunities Inventory (Annual LOI) is now available on MyESC. Use this tool to view current and future studies and courses to help plan your academic program. You can select undergraduate and graduate studies by subject area and Center location. To access the Annual LOI directly, go to http://www.esc.edu/annualLOI; or, go to the MyESC "Studies and Degree Plan" tab and look in the box titled "Available Undergraduate Studies."
  • (7/21/08) Aid for Part-Time Studies (APTS) funding is still available for 2008-2009. Undergraduate, matriculated, New York Students attending part time may be eligible for up to $1000 per term.
