B.S. IN NURSING PROGRAM DESIGN

The B.S. in Nursing program at Empire State College reflects the newest 2006 Hallmarks of Quality and Patient Safety, as well as the baccalaureate competencies recommended by the American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN). The program explores the themes of critical thinking, professional nursing, evidenced-based care, leadership, community health, technology, caring, health promotion and ethnic and cultural diversity awareness.

This upper division bachelor’s degree program includes online courses, with some requiring individualized community experiences. Like most students, you can enroll on a part-time basis, taking two courses in the fall and spring terms, one course in the summer term, and complete the program in 24-36 months. You complete 60 to 68 credits at Empire State College, including 40 credits of upper-division nursing requirements. You can complete studies outside your nursing major in either online or face-to-face learning formats.
