FORT DRUM DIRECTIONS

The Fort Drum office of Empire State College serves both civilian and military students.

From the South
From I-81, take exit 48, right on to Rt. 342 East. Go several miles to the 2nd traffic light. Turn left onto Rt. 11 North. Stay in the right hand lane until the 2nd traffic light, and bear right onto the Ft. Drum access road. If you pass Pizza Hut and KFC, you’ve gone too far.

From the North
Take Rt. 11 South through the village of Evans Mills. Continue until you arrive at the traffic light by the Pizza Hut and KFC. Turn left onto the access road to Ft. Drum. If you pass Wal-Mart, you’ve gone too far.

At the Fort Drum Security Check Point
Just before the security check point at the North Gate, park on the left and go into the building. Here you will be issued a pass to get you through the gate. If you are the driver, you must show a valid driver’s license, current vehicle registration, and proof of vehicle insurance. Passengers in the car must show a valid ID, such as a driver’s license. If you’ve scheduled a meeting with someone at Empire State College, we will have given your name to the security folks to allow you onto post.

To the Fort Drum Army Education Center
Once you’ve driven through the security check point, go through the first traffic light, but veer right onto Mt. Belvedere before you reach the second traffic light (or you can go all the way to the 2nd traffic light and turn right). At the fourth traffic light, you will reach Po Valley Road (from this point, you can see the Mt. Belvedere security gate ahead of you). Turn left onto Po Valley Road. At the first traffic light, turn right onto Conway Drive. The Education Center will be the second driveway on your left. There are two parking lots, one on either side of the building – you can park in either one. When you come into the building, the library will be on one side, and the Education Center and the Empire State College office will be on the other side.
