M.A. Liberal Studies Changing Your Degree Program
If you want to make changes in your degree program after it has been formally approved, you must immediately consult with your academic advisor. After the two of you agree upon the proposed changes, you should prepare a short letter explaining the changes and send it to your academic advisor for his/her approval and signature. Then your revised degree program will go through a similar process as with the original program: it is sent to the chair of liberal studies, who then forwards it to the liberal studies degree program review committee, which makes the final determination as to whether or not it should be approved. In practice, minor changes are easy to make. To ensure a prompt response, you should provide a brief and clear description of what you want to change and why. If you are making major changes in your program, however, you must submit a more detailed explanation of the proposed changes. You may even be asked to rewrite your degree program plan and rationale essay and to submit it again for review and approval.
