Student Identification Numbers and ID Cards

When you enroll at Empire State College, you will be assigned a seven digit Empire State College-ID number which will be used to identify your records at the college. This number is assigned so that you do not have to use your Social Security number. Check with your mentor or the School for Graduate Studies if you do not know your Empire State College-ID. The college issues ID cards to students upon request. Most of the students need ID cards to check out books or use library facilities at SUNY or CUNY colleges and universities.

ID cards are issued to active students. These cards require a digital photo in a JPEG (.jpg) format. You may have a digital photo taken at a residency, a center or unit of the college near you, or you may send one via e-mail. Digital photos are sent to Grad.Services@esc.edu. Once your active status has been confirmed and your ID processed, it will be mailed to you.
