DESCRIPTION:   

The Office of the Registrar is the repository of all official student records for the college. The Office of the Registrar at Empire State College is responsible for all official student and alumni records and information.  The Principal Clerk is the day-to-day office manager and is the supervisor of four classified staff members.  Position Duties Include:

  • Veteran Certifying Official for the college, responsible for assisting students eligible for veterans benefits, including informing veterans of college policies and procedures, certifying all veteran enrollment information with the VA, and coordinating with the Office of Veterans’ and Military Affairs, Student Accounts and Financial Aid on Veteran accounts
  • Complete the final academic review required for graduation of all degrees and certificates
  • Oversee academic documents processing activities for graduation, sending diplomas and the president’s congratulation letter to all graduates
  • Recommend and implement office processes as needed
  • Manage the center-to-center transfer process
  • Authenticate academic documents as required for foreign students

The incumbent will work closely with culturally diverse faculty, staff and students in a multicultural learning work environment. 

WORK HOURS:  8:30 am to 5:00 pm with an hour for lunch.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:  Applicants must have taken and passed a NYS Civil Service examination and be reachable off the Civil Service eligible list.

One year in a clerical position allocated at Grade 7 or higher.

GRADE/SALARY RANGE:  SG-14      $43,270 - $52,552
