How to Move Your Citations from EndNote into RefWorks

This How To has moved to http://subjectguides.esc.edu/endnotetorefworks. This current page will become a redirect to that page on Aug. 30, 2013, and will be deleted on Feb. 22, 2014. Please update your course links and bookmarks before the September 2013 term.

It's quick, easy and there's no loss of data or formatting.

  1. Log into your RefWorks account.
  2. Select "References," then "Import EndNote Database."
  3. Click "Browse" and locate your EndNote .enl file.
  4. Specify a folder to import the references to (optional – your references will automatically appear in the "Last Imported" folder).
  5. Click "Import."
