• Big Emerging Markets (BEMs)

According to the U.S. Department of Commerce, there are a number of countries, referred to as BEMs, that offer the maximum foreign business growth potential for companies in the U.S. and other advanced nations. These countries include Argentina, Brazil, Indonesia, Mexico, Poland, South Africa, South Korea and Turkey. Be sure to check this site if you want to know more.

This is a major resource for obtaining an extensive business guide for many countries of the world. The country guide is arranged in alphabetical order and comes to you from the International Trade Administration, U.S. Department of Commerce.

• Country Information - Library of the Congress
  
  The Federal Research Division of the Library of Congress (under the Country Studies/Area Handbook Program sponsored by the Department of the Army) provides a continuing series of books on 91countries of the world. The full text is available on-line.

Provides an overview of most countries of the world. Prepared by the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), this site provides an excellent summary of major political, economic, geographic and demographic statistics.
