SUNY Empire State College joined Chancellor Nancy L. Zimpher, Farmingdale State College, Nassau Community College, Suffolk Community College and SUNY Old Westbury on the Stony Brook University campus for the first in a series of showcases that SUNY has scheduled for the third year of its strategic plan, “The Power of SUNY.”

The event took place Oct. 5, and in all, the campuses put on more than 30 exhibits.
Spitzer, who lead the delegation at the showcase and spoke with the chancellor at the college’s booth on sustainability. The college also highlighted its work with open learning, partnerships and with educating veterans and members of the military.

SUNY campus showcases will be held in every region of New York State in the coming months. The next one will feature SUNY campuses in the Mid-Hudson region, at Purchase College, on Oct. 18, 2011. The college is the only SUNY institution that will participate in each of the showcases around the state.
