First-ever Student Mixers to be Held Upstate, Downstate and Around the State

For the first time, SUNY Empire State College will be holding student mixers statewide.

Undergraduate and graduate students, including those learning entirely online, are encouraged to attend any or all mixers near to where they live and work, or near to where they happen to be at 5:30 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 27, and/or Wednesday, Sept. 28, 2016.

A light dinner will be served and there is no cost to students for registering or attending.

Student mixers were created to provide new opportunities for face-to-face engagement with other students, faculty and alumni, apart from the college’s many face-to-face learning opportunities, known around the college as residencies, the many student and alumni events held throughout the state and the college’s annual Student Academic Conference and Student Wellness Retreat, where the college’s students from across the state gather together at a specific location.

Mix and Relax

Enjoy a light dinner with fellow students, faculty and staff. Engage in conversations that can lead to tips on academic success and degree completion, while managing family, work and community commitments.

Learn and Connect

Information will be available about the many student/alumni clubs, activities and events across the college, many of which are very similar to those found on a traditional college campus and enrich the overall student education and experience at SUNY Empire.

Ask Questions and Get Answers

College staff will be on hand to answer any questions about academic support, the online library, career services and the availability of free Microsoft’s Office 365.

Win and Enjoy

Grand prize travel and lodging packages for the college's 2017 Student Wellness Retreat, to be held in Albany, will be raffled off at each location.

Gift cards also will be raffled off at each location.
