USWA-ICD Distance Learning Program

The USWA-ICD Distance Learning Program is a distance learning program coordinated by Empire State College and the Institute for Career Development, Inc. (a joint venture of the International USWA and 13 major steel producing companies). Through this collaborative venture, courses are designed for United Steel Workers of America as part of an overall program that will lead to an Associate in Science or a Bachelor of Science degree.

The USWA-ICD Distance Learning Program offers associate (A.A., A.S.) and bachelor's (B.A., B.S., B.P.S.) degrees in 11 major academic areas, including business, management and economics; community and human services; interdisciplinary studies; labor studies; and science, mathematics and technology. We also offer Certificates of Completion in labor/management and information systems.

Empire State College is accredited by the Middle States Commision on Higher Education and is recognized as a world leader in serving the adult learner.

Terms are 15 weeks long and begin in September, November, January, March and May. We now offer eight week courses during the May term.
