SUNY Chancellor Considering Recommendations of 3 Candidates
The college has been informed by Chancellor Nancy Zimpher’s office that she and other senior members of SUNY administration will be interviewing finalists for the presidency of Empire State College during the last week in March and into the first week in April.
Members of the Presidential Search Committee met with the full membership of the College Council March 6 to discuss the candidacies of the five semi-finalists who visited the college between Feb. 24 and March 1. The full council then met in executive session and selected three candidates whose names were sent to the chancellor along with recommendations on each garnered from search committee opinions and observations from members of the college community.
The names of the candidates forwarded to the chancellor are not made public.
It is anticipated that Zimpher will present her recommendation to the members of the SUNY Board of Trustees at their mid-April meeting.
