Survey Closing and Listening Sessions Scheduled with RPA Inc.
Members of the presidential search committee are urging those who have not yet participated in the questionnaire about the search for the next president to do so before the close of business Friday, Oct. 19, when the survey will be shut down. The link is posted on this site's landing page.
The survey also has been distributed to alumni and students with a message from committee members Brian Curran, a 1980 graduate of the Genesee Valley Center who represents the alumni community, and Timothy Minihan, a student in the School for Graduate Studies, representing the interests of students.
At the same time the survey is underway, members of the college community are participating in “listening sessions” with representatives of RPA Inc. of Williamsport, Pa., the search firm hired by the college to provide consultation and guidance about the search process.
Search committee members and staff at individual centers have helped facilitate these discussions and will do so for future listening sessions in which members of the search firm will hear the thoughts of people from the college.

An additional listening session has been requested by CDL faculty and is being planned for the week of Oct. 22, as are listening sessions for professional and support staff members in coordinating center offices. Employees in individual buildings will be informed about the details of those sessions as soon as they are established.
All listening sessions are guided by a set of key questions that are asked of each group by RPA representatives and the results will be used to define the qualities sought in a new president. Anyone who is unable to participate in a listening session, yet wants to share information with the search consultants should feel free to contact RPA Vice President Kate Nolde at 800-992-9277.
Information that is gathered during these search process exercises will be used by the search committee and the consultants as they define what qualities the college community is seeking in a new leader and shape the document for candidates that describes the college, its past, present and future.
