Active College Participation and the Next Steps

The college community has actively engaged in the search process by attending the presentations, asking and emailing questions for the candidates and sharing their views via the survey instrument. and as of Sunday evening, a total of 756 people viewed the live streamed presentations, questions and answer sessions in the morning and afternoon and the webinar with students. This is in addition to the approximately 300 people who gathered to participate in person in Saratoga Springs and across the regional centers of the college.

Viewing of the recording of these also has been vigorous, with a total of 1,645 individual viewings registered.

The search committee will meet jointly with the full College Council Wednesday, March 6, at which time the two groups will focus on who among the candidates they want to recommend to Chancellor Nancy Zimpher. The responses to the surveys about the candidates will be an important element in those discussions, so members of the college community are urged to participate.

Following Wednesday's meeting, names of finalists will be forwarded to Zimpher, who then will interview each final candidate and make a recommendation to the SUNY Board of Trustees, which is expected to consider and vote on the recommendation at its May meeting.

More information about the candidates and the recorded videos are available on the Presidential Search website.
