Welcome

This web site is designed specifically for adult learners with an interest in math and science. Whether you are returning to college, starting for the first time, or just curious, our goal is to provide learning resources that are interesting and useful.

As an adult learner you face time pressures. So our philosophy is to start with the practical and move to the theory when it is needed. Our aim is to help you with your studies and to inform you about topics in math and science that affect your daily life.

Environmental Field Activities Web Site

It's easy to think of environmental issues as big problems that are occurring somewhere else. Climate change, pollution, and biodiversity loss are all national and international issues, but they also have impacts where you live.

In the course Contemporary Environmental Issues students examine a broad range of contemporary global environmental issues, such as biodiversity, pollution, population growth, and global warming, with the focus on how those big issues can have local effects.

In support of this the course developer has created an Environmental Field Activities web site that features and describes some of the field activities used in the course. This web site is publicly available.

You can learn more about this course, and the other new math and science courses we've created specifically for adult learners, on the Featured Courses page.
