April 25, 2011
Approaches and Disclosures, a collection of photographic work by Lee Herman, mentor at the Auburn Unit; Sue Orrell, director of academic support at Central New York Center; and Alan Stankiewicz, mentor at the Central New York Center, will be on view at the Central Arts Gallery, 6333 Route 298, East Syracuse, NY, through June 10. There will be an opening reception for the show on April 26, 5-7 p.m. The public is invited to attend at no charge and refreshments will be served. The photographers' work is represented here, above.
“All three artists approach photography from unique perspectives, which is what prompted the exhibition,” Stankiewicz says. “The work ranges in content from urban street life to local landscapes and constructed images of the skies. As a single image or a studied series, each photograph reflects a deep-rooted approach to photography based on personal experience and external influences.”
The show is an opportunity for the SUNY Empire State College community to view and celebrate a creative collaboration among colleagues while broadening their own definitions of photography.
