A free “Camera Creativity” workshop was presented at the college’s Empire State Plaza location, concourse level next to SEFCU, Wednesday, Sept. 18.

Perfect for the hobbyist just looking for something more fun, or even an aspiring professional looking for ideas, this workshop focused on techniques that do not require a fancy camera encompassed tips and tricks that can be used by any person at any level of expertise, including a novice. Also covered were the basic creative “rules”, thinking outside the box, DIY tips to alter photos, post-processing programs, printing, framing, mounting and organizing a photo collection. A camera was not required, but participants were welcome to bring one, if desired.

The presenter, Samantha Genier, a professional photographer based in Saratoga Springs, is a graduate of the Hallmark school for Photography and owns and operates her own company, Photographic Phantasy. Genier returned to the Plaza office for the second year, having presented a "standing room only" workshop last fall.
