Mentor Susan Jefts Publishes in Anthology

By John Eisler, associate dean, Center for Distance Learning

December 16, 2013

Susan Jefts, a mentor at the Center for Distance Learning, will read her poetry along with five other authors at several book launch events for the award-winning anthology, "A Slant of Light: Contemporary Women Writers of the Hudson Valley," in which her work was recently published. The anthology, published this August by Codhill Press, has just won The USA Best Book Award for anthologies. The book is comprised of works by authors of the Hudson Valley region and includes poetry, short stories, and essays.

The book launch events for the anthology will be held throughout New York state during the fall and winter, and a writers conference focusing on the anthology and its authors will be held March 8-9 in New Paltz. Information about this event beginning in January can be found at www.huguenotstreet.org. Susan Jefts, Susan.Jefts@esc.edu, also can be contacted for details. The book is available in bookstores throughout New York and New England as well as major online booksellers.
