Vickie Moller, student writer

Vickie Moller-PepeVickie Moller is a SUNY Empire State College student with the Long Island Center-Hauppauge Unit. She is majoring in cultural studies with a concentration in communications and expects to graduate with a Bachelor of Arts in 2012.

Moller serves on the Student Affairs Committee as a student representative for the Long Island Center. In addition, as a result of a publishing internship during the September 2011 term, she secured a position as a freelance writer for a premier Long Island web-based news and information publication. Moller is pursuing a career in journalism as a feature story writer.

“My experience as a student at SUNY Empire State College has opened doors of opportunity for me that I could never have imagined! It was through the academic planning process that my professional goals became clear and through a writing internship that my career was launched. Contributing articles to The Student Connection has provided me with exciting and challenging interviewing and reporting opportunities that have afforded me rich experience and further served to confirm my career goals. It is a privilege to be a part of such a distinguished and effectual institution of higher learning,” said Moller.
