Dirty Windows

A streetlamp
Cascades light,
Diffused through
Dirty windows,
Giving off
A halo effect
Ironic, given the cause
Lusty hot breath,
Angry words,
Unholy intentions,
Death filled smoke
The air filled
With false hope
This place reeks
Of surrender
Clean the glass
And the halo is gone
Nothing left, but
Harsh light
No more
Dirty windows
