SUNY Empire PRODiG Steering Committee

The PRODiG Steering Committee advances Empire State University’s core value of diversity, equity, and inclusion and directly supports the academic and inclusive excellence strategic priority and the DEI Action Plan.

The Committee serves as an advisory and recommending body to the Provost and works to advance SUNY Empire’s PRODiG goals. The advisory body represents a collective voice to guide the academic leadership on structural changes and initiatives throughout the faculty lifecycle that ensure the retention of racialized faculty.

Specifically, the Committee will:

  • Generate novel ideas and recommendations that will likely be effective to attract and recruit racialized faculty on tenure-track lines.
  • Identify processes and initiatives to retain and successfully support racialized faculty, including participants of the PRODiG Fellowship Program.
  • Identify initiatives to build pipelines to academic careers among students from historically marginalized groups.
  • Review and propose revisions to SUNY Empire’s PRODiG goals.
