Electric Vehicles Charging and Fuel-Efficient Vehicle Parking

Empire State College has charging stations for electric vehicles (EV) as well as designated parking spaces for high-efficiency vehicles (HEV) at 113 West Ave. in Saratoga Springs.

The EV charging station is located at the end of the first row of parking adjacent to the sidewalk west of the main entrance. Charging of EVs is free to employees, students and the general public. The level 2 Chargepoint station can be activated with a Chargepoint key fob or by calling the 1-800 number listed on the charging station. Two vehicles can charge at one time.

The first few parking spaces west of the main entrance, adjacent to the sidewalk are reserved for HEV. Every year the American Council for an Energy-Efficient Economy releases a list of the highest-rated efficient and low-emitting vehicles. Only those vehicles on the list are allowed to park in the HEV spots. This includes parking from employees, students or the general public. The most up to date list of allowed vehicles is posted below.
