Financial Aid Application Deadlines

The financial aid deadline is the date by which you must have all financial aid applications, additional financial aid requirements/documents and appeals submitted and any student loans accepted in order ensure the processing of your aid eligibility by the payment deadline.

The financial aid deadlines for 2024-2025 are as follows:

• Summer 2024- N/A: Due to the unprecedented delays with the U.S. Department of Education in processing FAFSA applications and making the results available to institutions for processing and aid determination, we will be waiving the summer financial aid deadline and will process your eligibility and award your financial aid as soon as possible once your FAFSA result is received from them.  Please note, a valid FAFSA must be received by our office prior to the term end date.  See the most up-to-date information regarding the status at FAFSA Update.  
• Fall 2024- August 2, 2024
• Spring 2025- December 20, 2024

The financial aid deadlines for 2023-2024 were as follows:

• Summer 2023- April 14, 2023
• Fall 2023- August 4, 2023
• Spring 2024- December 8, 2023

Also, the priority deadline for federal campus-based aid including the Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant (SEOG), New York State Aid for Part-Time study (APTS) and Empire State University grants and scholarships is April 1 prior to the start of the award year.

Financial aid files completed after the financial aid priority-deadline dates discussed above will be reviewed. However, our office cannot guarantee that financial aid will be processed before the payment due date.  Students in this situation should consider the Time Payment Plan.

Students who do not have sufficient funding or payment in place by the payment due date may lose their registered classes for the term. To avoid registration cancellation, please apply early so that we may determine your eligibility.
