Educational Technology Services for Students

The regional Educational Technologists (EdTechs) support the use of educational and emerging technologies in teaching and learning at Empire State College. Although most of their time is spent supporting faculty, the EdTechs are a local resource for students who may have questions about the learning management system, or any technologies or web tools that they are asked to use in their courses. EdTechs often give sessions or workshops during Orientation, Residencies, or during other college events that promote digital fluency and digital literacy. Assignment Calculator

The Assignment Calculator is a tool available through the Academic Support website to assist you in making timely progress on large or complex assignments. Use the Assignment Calculator to both help plan your time and find resources for writing assignments.

Knowledge Base

The Knowledge Base is where you can find answers to questions about the technology you use at ESC. Trouble accessing LinkedIn Learning? Forgot how to log in to Moodle? Just type in a keyword and look through the search result for your answer.

LEARNscape is an easy to use media platform that enables you to view, record, upload, publish, search, and share video. It is safely contained within the ESC community, so you can think of it as the college's own YouTube. LEARNscape is also integrated with Moodle, so you can also create and share videos in class.

Moodle is the learning management system (LMS) used to host online courses and studies at Empire State College. Learn more about it on the Moodle Table of Contents for Students.

LinkedIn Learning

LinkedIn Learning is a video-based online learning and training site that delivers on-demand instructional content on subjects, such as time management, web design, Office 365, communication skills, and many others. Students have access to LinkedIn Learning for as long as they are enrolled at the college.
