COVID-19 is a pandemic that has reshaped the way all of us live. Many have lost loved ones, friends and family members. This pandemic has impacted many people differently. In my case, it reversed the roles in my family. Most of the time, being that I’m 18 years old, I would depend on my family for shelter, food , water and other necessities. Working with Local 3 I had an opportunity to contribute to that big pot of responsibilities. Due to COVID-19, however, I have now become the one who provides for my family, since none of them are able to work. It feels good to be able to provide for and support the family, thanks to the union, even though the whole situation is enough to drive everyone a little over the edge.
