Some people operate best under stress, tragedy, and chaos.

I found peace and gained an appreciation of life from being at war.

Ten years later, I am finding peace and have gained a refreshing taste of appreciation for life again while sheltering in place from COVID-19.

I feel the tragedy heavy on my heart as people around me have fallen sick and died.

I feel the anxiety of stress beating in my chest.

My head has not stopped ringing from the trauma of the chaos.

I have found peace and appreciate the many things life has given me while waiting for the pain to end.

Is this the cost of peace?
