Information Technology Services will be performing hardware maintenance on Sunday Jan. 22 from 8a.m. - 1 p.m. (ET).   Student records, registration and payment will be unavailable during this time period.

Spring 1 2017 term starts today.

Add/drop period for the Spring 1 2017 term opens Tues., Jan. 17 at 9 a.m. and closes Friday Jan. 20 at 5 p.m. After that time, withdrawals are processed through the Office of the Registrar. Withdrawal forms and instructions are found at www.esc.edu/withdraw.

SUNY Empire State College is excited to announce registration and call for proposals will open for the fifth annual Student Wellness Retreat on Tuesday, January 17th. Please visit the Student Wellness Retreat website to register; also keep in mind that travel grants are limited. 

Our keynote speaker this year is Tamika Catchings who is a four-time Olympic gold medalist, nine-time WNBA All-star, NCAA Champion, president of the WNBA Players Association and a New York Times best-selling author. 

The dates of the retreat are April 6-8 at the Hilton in downtown Albany. We hope to see you there!

Registration closes today at 5 p.m. All Spring 1 2017 term registrations that are not paid for will be cancelled on Tues., Jan. 17, at 8 a.m. EST. Please review your student account statement now and make sure that you do not have an outstanding balance. Acceptable payment arrangements are approved financial aid or third-party sponsorship (as shown on your student account statement) and the time payment plan.

If you register for the Spring 1 2017 term on or before Jan. 6, 2017, the payment due date is today.  You must have payment in full or payment arrangements in place (as shown on your student account statement) to avoid cancellation of your enrollment. Please review your student account statement now and make sure that you do not have an outstanding balance.

If you register for the Spring 1 2017 term on or before Jan. 6, 2017, the payment due date is Jan. 6, 2017.   You may view your student account statement online. Enrollments not paid in full, or through approved financial aid, sponsorship or enrollment in the time payment plan will be cancelled after the payment due date.

Kick Start Your 2017 New Year’s Resolution! Join the SUNY Empire State College 13-week-long Movement Campaign for Charity. The challenge starts Jan. 1 and ends April 1. 

How to Get Started:

  1. Download the free Charity Miles app at http://www.charitymiles.org/.
  2. Log into Charity Miles, and search for your team, #SUNYEmpire, in the search bar.
  3. Join the team, and then select the charity of your choice
  4. Select your form of workout – outdoor walk/run, indoor walk/run or outdoor bike.
  5. Get moving! Make sure your workout is being tracked.

For those who cannot run, bike or walk and would still like to participate, please email Amanda.York@esc.edu for other options.

Top three students who log the most miles will receive Fitbits at the 2017 Student Wellness Retreat, April 6-8 at The Hilton, in Albany, N.Y.

Effective 6/16/16, Higher One Inc. was acquired by Customers Bank. As part of this acquisition, Higher One's disbursement functions will now take place under BankMobile Disbursements, a division of Customers Bank. Higher One communicated this change to students on their web site. Additional information can be found at Student Accounts "Financial Aid Refunds" page.

The college has begun providing students with Microsoft Office 365. As of July 20, 2016, all students enrolled in the Summer 2 term and June mini sessions will have their own college email address and the entire suite of cloud-based Microsoft Office 365 (O365) products, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, OneNote, OneDrive and Skype for Business. All other students will have access to the suite of products as of the first day of the term for which they are enrolled. Please see the article in ITS News for complete details on when you can expect to receive it and what to do in preparation.

Beginning Monday, July 25, the look and feel of MyESC will change. The change will make MyESC more mobile-friendly, as well as make it fit in better visually with the rest of the college website.

What Will Change?

Only the look and feel. It will become similar to that of the library website (www.esc.edu/library).

Students planning to attend May 16, 2016 and after should complete the 2016-2017 FAFSA online at www.fafsa.ed.gov listing school code 010286 in order for federal aid eligibility to be determined. Federal financial aid for the Summer 2016, Fall 2016, and Spring 2017 terms will begin to be processed by the Financial Aid office beginning February 22, 2016.
