Alumni Services Coordinator David R. White '05 to Present at SUNYCUAD

David Regan White '05, coordinator of alumni services in the Office of Alumni and Student Relations, has been selected to present at the SUNYCUAD annual conference to be held in Syracuse in June.

His presentation, "Getting There from Here: A Model to Develop Social Media and Digital Strategies to Increase Alumni Engagement with Your Alumni Website," will examine social media, website usability and website design strategies to increase alumni engagement with a college's alumni website.

White is responsible for managing the college’s alumni website, email campaigns and social media properties. He is a 1990 graduate of Hudson Valley Community College with an A.A. in technology management and a 2005 graduate of the college with a B.S. in business, management and economics with a concentration in marketing. Under his guidance, in 2008 the Empire State College alumni website was awarded the Best in Category Alumni Website award from LERN, CASE and SUNYCUAD.

"As a lifelong learner, I am honored to be recognized by SUNYCUAD to present at its conference and look forward to representing Empire State College as an alumnus and professional staff member in discussions with fellow SUNY colleagues," he said.

White was also awarded, along with Maureen Winney, director of alumni and student relations, the James William and Mary Elizabeth Hall Award for Innovation in 2009 for thier work in establishing and marketing the college's private online community for alumni, students, faculty and staff, which now serves more than 9,000 members.

White is a member of the college's Website Advisory Committee and supports the Office of Communications and Government Relations’ online advocating initiatives to alumni and students and online campaigns for the Empire State College Foundation and Office of Veterans and Military Education.

SUNYCUAD (State University of New York Council for University Advancement) promotes understanding and support of the State University of New York and provides professional development and networking opportunities for advancement professionals in the areas of public relations, alumni relations, publications, electronic communications, development, government relations and marketing.

LERN (Learning Resources Network) is an international association of lifelong learning programming, offering information and resources to providers of lifelong learning programs.

CASE (Council for Advancement and Support of Education) is a professional association serving educational institutions and the advancement professionals who work on their behalf in alumni relations, communications, development, marketing and allied areas.
