Three Voices That Shape Our Vision, Open Webinar Series Speak to “Re-emergence,” the Inauguration Theme for Merodie A. Hancock

As part of the celebratory events for the inauguration of Merodie A. Hancock, the third and final webinar in a three-part series, “Three Voices That Shape Our Vision,” takes place from 10-11 a.m., Thursday, March 20.

The topic of the webinar is the quote from Aristotle, "All men by nature desire to know."

Elizabeth Minnich, at left, senior scholar at the Association of American Colleges and Universities in Washington, D.C. and a professor at Queens University of Charlotte, N.C., explores how this idea shapes the vision for nontraditional higher education.

The topic of the second inauguration webinar, “Education is a seamless web: one level of learning relates to every other,” a quote from  Ernest L. Boyer Sr., was presented by  James W. Hall, founding president, SUNY Empire State College. 

In case you missed the first of the three inauguration webinars by Saleem Badat, newly appointed program director of the International Higher Education and Strategic Projects for The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation and former vice chancellor for Rhodes University, South Africa, the webinar and PowerPoint presentation are available.

Badat discussed a quote by Nelson Mandela, “Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world,” which also is relevant to the inauguration theme of re-emergence.
