Members of the SUNY Empire State College community across the state and around the world are asked to consider participating in the Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service, a national effort that honors King’s legacy, by volunteering their time for a good cause on Monday, Jan. 18.

Many SUNY Empire alumni, students, faculty, staff and their families have long-standing community commitments.

Everyone is encouraged to share pictures of themselves, friends and family, as they volunteer this weekend, during Monday’s national day of service and, thereafter, on the college’s social networks using the hashtag #SUNYEmpireGivesBack, or by email to alumni@esc.edu.

For those looking for a service opportunity on Monday, a registry is available on the national day of service website at http://www.nationalservice.gov/mlkday.

Student services will be available during the weekend and, as always, details may be found on the MyESC webpage.

The college will close Monday in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day. All college offices and departments will open at their regularly scheduled times Tuesday morning, Jan. 19.
