90-year-old Alumna Josie Quinones ’91 Enjoys a Day at the Races

Ninety-year-old alumna Josie Quinones ’91 was one of the many to enjoy the college’s annual Alumni and Student Day at the Races, held Friday, July 28, at Saratoga Race Course, Saratoga Springs, N.Y.

She was proud to learn that she was the oldest person in attendance.

Quinones first attended the event in 2003 and has returned at least nine times.

Accompanied by family members Ric Quinones, Anne O’Dowd, Chris Quinones and Sean Kennedy, she said she looks forward to the college’s day at the races and always has a wonderful time.

As a nontraditional-age student, Quinones decided to return to college and enroll at SUNY Empire in her 60’s after all her children had completed their degrees.

She continues to participate in the life of the college and plans on attending next year’s event.
