SUNY Empire State College Launches New Look for Prospective Students

Makes Navigation Easier for Prospective Students

(SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. – July 23, 2010) New graphics, revised content, improved navigation and streamlined communication are among the features of the updated, interim SUNY Empire State College website for prospective students (suny-empire.esc.edu).

The project to refresh the site was undertaken to meet goals set forth in the college’s strategic plan, Vision 2015, which mandates the use of integrated technologies to aid the college in delivering services to learners, including current and prospective learners, and refreshing SUNY Empire State College’s brand and image.

Top priorities included making it easier for prospective students to learn about the college or request further information and enhancing the college’s visibility in search engines. This phase of refinement is the initial phase of a longer-term plan; ultimately, the prospective student area will be consistent with the college’s evolving comprehensive site as an overarching content management system, commonly referred to as t4. The prospective student site has been implemented early because of its vital role in recruitment and enrollment.

SUNY Empire State College was established in 1971 to offer adult learners the opportunity to earn associate, bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the State University of New York. Students learn through independent studies, online courses, seminars and residencies. They also may earn credit for prior college-level learning from work and life experience. The college serves more than 20,000 students worldwide with 34 locations in New York state and online. For more information, visit www.esc.edu.
