(SARATOGA SPRINGS, NY – December 4, 2023) Empire State University was recently ranked #7 among Northeast colleges and universities and 118 in the nation in Military Times annual “Best for Vets: Colleges” rankings. The university also made the top 10 Best for Vets online institutions. This ranking is the nation’s largest and most comprehensive annual ranking of schools for military service members and veterans.

SUNY Empire is the top-ranked SUNY in Military Times annual rankings this year and is the largest-serving, four-year military-affiliated institution within the State University of New York, granting 20% of all military-affiliated degrees in SUNY. The university increased its standing in several categories this year, including making the list of top 10 Best for Vets online institutions.

SUNY Empire has proudly served military-aligned students, which also includes military spouses and child dependents, since its founding in 1971. The university offers college credit for military training, tuition benefits and assistance, and support staff dedicated to military-affiliated students. It recently opened a new Veteran and Military Resource Center at its Saratoga Springs, NY location.
