(New York, NY — October 26, 2023) — Empire State University and CUNY’s Borough of Manhattan Community College (BMCC) inked a partnership today to provide seamless, accessible, high-quality education to meet the needs of BMCC’s students. The signing ceremony was held on the BMCC campus and attended by leaders from both institutions, as well as students and staff.

The partnership between the two public institutions grants BMCC graduates guaranteed admission into an online bachelor’s degree program at Empire State University, creating an accelerated path to bachelor’s degree completion. Eligible students will also receive a scholarship, fee waiver, and 100% transfer of their associate degree credits.

Empire State University President Lisa Vollendorf, Ph.D., said, “Our goal is not just to grow enrollments, but to serve people who are often left behind by four-year universities. We stand together as presidents of two institutions deeply committed to diversifying our workforce, to social mobility, to economic opportunity, and to being innovative and creative in service to our students here in Manhattan and across the state of New York.” 

“It’s important for our students to know when they leave here, they can go to institutions that will support them. That’s one of the reasons we are in partnership with Empire State University,” said Borough of Manhattan Community College President Munroe, Ed.D. “The accessibility and convenience of an online education is a life changing opportunity.”
