Empire State University Celebrates International Education Week

International Education Week takes place November 13-17, 2023. Empire State University is celebrating it by recognizing international alumni from our partnership with the University of New York Tirana (UNYT) in Albania. Empire State University is honored to partner with educational institutions around the world like UNYT to offer students access to an affordable, flexible, and high-quality education. 

Arben Zibri '07 earned his degree in Finance and currently serves as a project manager for the Data Science division at Cardo AI, where he spearheads the articulation of product vision. He is also an adjunct faculty member for UNYT. 

Luela Hajdaraga '08 currently holds the position of Ambassador of Albania in Greece. She earned her degree in International Relations. 

Athina Tori '14 completed her degree with distinction in Finance and earned her master’s degree in Accounting, Accountability and Financial Management with distinction at King’s College London, where she was recognized with the highest student mark. 

Athina has served as an internal auditor at BKT Albania for five years, where her expertise and attention to detail have contributed to the organization’s governance and financial integrity. Since 2019, Athina has joined the academic staff of UNYT as an assistant lecturer, sharing her knowledge and experience with the next generation of finance professionals. 

Jonathan Pano '17 completed his degree in Business Administration, and currently serves as a distinguished member of the City Council at the Municipality of Tirana. 

In addition to his civic duties, he shares his expertise and knowledge as a lecturer at the University of New York Tirana, making valuable contributions to both academia and public service.
