Nursing Nondegree Study
If you are a licensed registered nurse interested in taking courses, but are not ready for the RN to B.S. in Nursing degree program, you can register as a nondegree student.
Requests from nondegree students are considered on an individual basis by the coordinator of student services and the dean. The specific course being requested and the student-faculty ratio within it will be considered.
Note: students pursuing the RN to B.S. in Nursing degree at Empire State College have first rights to open places in all nursing course offerings, followed by:
- nursing students from other upper-level programs within SUNY
- nursing students from upper-level programs beyond SUNY
- Empire State College students
- other nondegree students.
Nondegree students are allowed to take only two of the required nursing courses (NUR-203024 - Health Assessment and NUR-203044 - Pharmacology) prior to enrolling in the program.
