Identity and Politics in the U.S. Residency
- Examine the ideals of democracy, justice, equality and liberty as they have been understood and experienced in the U.S.
- Consider the topics of power, integration, immigration, exclusion, socioeconomic access and rights.
- Explore the questions, "who sits at the table?", "who am I?", "what happened to God in America?", and "who is an American?"
The Identity and Politics in the U.S. Residency allows students to choose one of four studies that uses a blended model combining an online component with one onsite meeting in Brooklyn, N.Y.
At the start of the term, students will study online in Moodle, attend the onsite meeting in Brooklyn Oct. 20-21, and then return home to finish the remainder of the term online. While onsite, students will attend plenary sessions and group activities, hear from guest speakers and meet in small groups seminars to focus on their selected study.
